Guest Self-Employed
Ideal for:
Entrepreneurs, freelancers, and independent professionals who wish to live in Hungary while operating their own business or offering services independently.

This permit is designed for third-country nationals (non-EU/EEA citizens) who do not have a Hungarian employer but plan to generate income through self-employment — such as consulting, creative work, digital services, or other professional activities.

Applicants must prove:
  • A viable business activity or service plan
  • Sufficient financial means to support themselves
  • Proof of accommodation in Hungary
  • In some cases, contracts or letters of intent from clients
The Guest Self-Employed Permit is ideal for freelancers, consultants, artists, and small business owners who want to legally reside and work in Hungary on an independent basis.
Ideal for:
High-net-worth individuals and international investors who wish to obtain long-term residence in Hungary through strategic investment.

The Guest Investor Residence Permit, commonly referred to as the Hungarian Golden Visa, is designed for third-country nationals who make a qualifying financial contribution to the Hungarian economy. This permit provides a 10-year residence status, renewable for another 10 years.

To qualify, investors must choose one of the following options:
  1. Real Estate Fund Investment
  2. Invest at least €250,000 into a Hungarian real estate fund registered by the state.
  3. Educational Donation
  4. Make a non-refundable €1,000,000 donation to a Hungarian higher education institution.
The permit allows investors to live in Hungary and travel freely within the Schengen Area. Unlike the White Card or other temporary permits, the Golden Visa route offers a clear path to permanent residency (after 3 years) and eventual citizenship (after 8 years of permanent residence).

This is Hungary’s most stable and long-term immigration option for wealthy individuals seeking European residence and travel flexibility.
